I think I've been targeted by a lottery scam - how do I know if it's a scam or not?

Lottery scams work by advising people that they have won money in a lottery when they have not. The purpose is to either extract a fee to collect the non-existent "winnings", or obtain confidential financial details.

NSW Lotteries or any other business of Tatts Group Ltd does not send emails or letters requesting further information for payment of prizes. Customers who have received any communication that they are concerned about should contact our Contact Centre on 131 868.

I have lost, had stolen or misplaced my REGISTERED ticket/s. What can I do?

If you are a Players Club card member and you lose your lotto ticket registered to your Players Club card, you should call NSW Lotteries on 131 868.

Once we verify your identity we can arrange for a cheque to be mailed to you made out to the name(s) and address of the parties registered on the Players Club card.

If you lose your ticket together with your Players Club card, call NSW Lotteries immediately on 131 868 so we can place a 'Stop Payment' on your ticket which will prevent anyone else from claiming your prize, provided that the prize has not yet been paid.

I have lost, had stolen or misplaced my UNREGISTERED ticket/s. What can I do?

Please be careful with your unregistered lotto ticket or Instant Scratch-Its ticket because if it is stolen or you lose it, someone else could claim the prize.

If your lotto ticket is not registered to a Players Club card, you will need to complete a Lost/Damaged Ticket Search form which may assist us to locate your entry in our lottery system. There is a $15.00 fee associated with this search. If we are successful in locating your ticket a 'Stop Payment' can be placed on the winning lotto ticket, provided that the prize has not yet been paid.
