Malcolm Page and Matthew Belcher are on the verge of collecting Australia’s third sailing gold medal of the London Olympics, with the pair holding a four point advantage over their nearest pursuers going into the gold medal race of the Men’s 470 class. Belcher and Page teamed up to win gold in each of the past three World Championships, while Page also won gold with Nathan Wilmot at the Beijing Olympics four year ago. Australia will be guaranteed the gold medal if they finish ahead of Great Britain in the gold medal race.
Melissa Gorman lines up in the gruelling Women’s 10km Marathon swim looking to better her fifteenth placed finish in 2008. Last year the 26 year-old finished fourth in the event at the World Championships in Shanghai.
