Victorian trained galloper Hawks Bay will be looking to build on his excellent record in the Northern Territory when he lines up in a fourth consecutive Darwin Cup at Fannie Bay racecourse on Monday. The seven year-old finally cracked it for a win in the Northern Territories biggest race last year after finishing second in 2009 and 2010. Hawks Bay has a great record at the track, having won seven of his sixteen starts on the all-weather surface, including the Guineas-Derby double three years ago.
Stablemate Palmyra Boy lines up again having finished second last year, but local horses Bolton , Sheahan and Glare are expected to provide the biggest threat to the crowd favourite.
