Former world champion Anthony Mundine begins his quest to earn a fight against five weight world champion Floyd Mayweather when he takes on 41 year-old Bronco McKart at The Palms in Las Vegas on Sunday morning (AEST). The former New South Wales State of Origin representative hasn’t been in the ring for a competitive bout since October last year, when he beat Rigoberto Alvarez by unanimous decision to take his career record to 43-4.
McKart, who had his finest moment when winning the vacant WBO Light Middleweight title in 1996, defeated Jose Medina in April to set up a showdown with Mundine. His 64 career bouts have produced 54 wins, nine defeats and one draw.
