Miami Heat  and Oklahoma City Thunder  will do battle in the NBA Finals starting on Wednesday morning (AEST) after winning their respective conferences. The Heat overcame a 3-2 deficit against the Boston Celtics before eventually claiming the Eastern conference title with a 4-3 series triumph, while Oklahoma won four straight games after trailing 2-0 to win the Western conference at the expense of San Antonio Spurs.

Miami lost out to the Dallas Mavericks in last season’s finals and claimed their most recent NBA title in 2006. Oklahoma City Thunder has never won the championship, but were the last team standing in 1979 when the team was known as the Seattle Supersonics.
